Intrument panel vmax 540 and 81 srx 440e
Yamaha- the way it should be
not sure if they are mechanically different but i know the 81 goes to 10000 on the tach i assume the 82 does to... and the guage faces look different... but i imagine they are interchangable
My airbox is held on by one screw, not because Im lazy but because it is less weight!

oh the tank cover! hmmmm never really compared those... im thinking after 84 they ditched the tether... and at least in 86 there was the fuel shutoffs on the tank cover... also 86 on would have snaps for the seat cover i imagine... i dont see why you couldnt swap them around if you wanted

Yes you have right. The 80n tank cover has not the hole for the tether. Now i see the difference between those.
The difference between the 81/82 and the 83/84 are the hole in the front of the tank cover, where the rubberflap shall be(over the airbox), and the 85 did not have the hole for the tether.
Thanks Tyler 440.

The 85's on up used the T.O.R.S. (carb shut offs) instead of the tether cord !
