1981 yamaha srx

Post by hippi »

Im looking for a coil for my 81 srx, stock coil part # is 8m6 82310t000
do I get anything with a 82310 number in even if the first three numbers and leters are different or what do I use what sled will match up to a 81 srx
also in a comit 102 clutch witch spring color do I use also what ramps do use
also decales for this sled whare can I find some
If I use a set of 38mm round slides what main jet size should I use
I was thinking 400 for mains is that a good place to start for jetting

welcome to vintagevmax... if you read around the site i think you learn more than you ever imagined, including the answers to your questions but here you go, correct me if im wrong guys...

the coil from any 81-91 srx/vmax should work but the vmax ones mount slightly different...

i think the spring for a 102 on a srx is the square yellow one you have to engage it very high like in 4600+...

jon bertolli has stickers i believe...

400's sound really fat ive always heard to start with the vmax specs but have never successfully done it.. .the mains in a vmax are depending on the year and altitude 290-310...
My airbox is held on by one screw, not because Im lazy but because it is less weight!

Just to let you know, the side panels should be painted with a semi flat black. Not glossy, just wanted to let you know before you put your decals on.
