No start without ether cold, and occasional bogging

Got a couple minor things going on with the sled, just thought I'd run it by the pros here.

First one is, if the sled sits overnight, or longer than 8-10 hours, I have to remove the plugs and spray ether in the plug holes to get it to fire. I've tried it with just the choke and after 10 pulls, i gave up. However, if I pull the spark plugs and spray ether in the cylinders first, it fires right up first pull, and runs great all day. If it sits for an hour or two it will always start right back up on the first or second pull, no choke, I only have to use ether on the first start of the day.

Other question is, sometimes when I slow down, almost to a stop, and go to speed back up again, it will bog and I have to pump the throttle to get it to take off again. This doesnt happen all the time.

Carbs have been cleaned within the last month, not sure how old the plugs are, but they dont look bad. Any thoughts?

How cold is it at your location?
Its only 20 here and I have trouble the first several pulls on a cold engine.
Even at 60 degrees it is hard to start cold.

I use an electric mower motor to spin my VMAX the first time each day to keep from killing my shoulder and ruinning the ride.

It sometimes takes 30 to 60 seconds of spinning to get the engine to fire and stay running.

After it starts, I can pull it by hand no problem. It usually starts first pull (no choke) even after sitting an hour or two.

Thats the same thing mine does. Its been in the teens and 20's here for the past few weeks.

I changed the plugs yesterday, and that took care of the bogging issue, will see today if it starts any easier cold.

Ether washes the oil off of cylinder walls and crank bearings so, use gas to prime any 2 stroke. Check to see if the fuel lines to the carbs are full before starting if not sounds like your fuel pumps need rebuiding or the vaccum lines to the crank case could be loose or cracked.
