Slide rail spacing

Post by Joe »

I pulled my slide rails out to check wheel bearings and grease the shafts and noticed the sleeves between the slide rails are different lengths as shown below.

From Front by axle
1. 8 7/16 inch. no spacers shown in shop manual.
2. 8 9/16 inch. spacers shown in shop manual are missing.
3. 8 13/16 inch. no spacers shown in shop manual.
4. 8 9/16 with step spacers on the outside as previously assembled and as shown in shop manual. 8 13/16 with step spacers on the inside as shown in the illustrated parts breakdown on the factory website.
5. 8 13/16 inch. no spacers shown in shop manual.
6. 8 13/16 inch. no spacers shown in shop manual.
7. 8 5/8 inch. with no washers as previously assembled. Factory website shows washers between shaft and slide rail.
8. 8 13/16 inch. with spacers as shown on Factory website .

As I see it:
Shaft #1 is damaged (worn) and needs to be shimmed.
Shaft #2 needs the missing 1/8 inch thick washers installed.
Shaft #4 needs the spacers installed inside the slide rails.
Shaft #7 needs the missing 3/32 inch thick washers installed.

Has anyone else had problems with their slide rails being assembled improperly?
