hoses and tubing

Does any know if there is a vacuum line from the fuel tank some where. Sled was running along fine and just quit. will start if i pump gas while pulling over but dies right away. opened hood found a piece of tubing staring at me. all lines are on going to fuel pumps carbs and shutoff valves, crank case. Any help would be great. I have a cylmers manual but doesn't show and connect diagrams. 83 vmax 540.

Geo, Welcome to Vintagevmax ! There is a vent on top right of tank that crosses over to the driven clutch side make sure its open. Open your gas cap and if it pulls in air your vent is plugged. Make sure your vacuum lines are intact from the fuel pumps to the crank cases. You could have a needle and seat in a carb sticking and not allowing in gas.
