1987 Vmax Oil Leak

Post by 91 Vmax sled »

I have just purchased an 1987 Vmax that the guy said he replaced the seal on the bottom. But I noticed a small amount of fresh oil under the oil tank & motor area. I wiped it up and it seems to be there again. Can anyone think of what it might be? The sled starts really good on first or second pull all the time. What should I look for or be looking for. I have checked all the clips in case they were off or loose.

Thanks

i had this problem.... the clamps didnt seem loose but when i changed the ones on the oil pump the leak quit.... you can try to put a peice of paper towl in your belly pan and then keep an eye on it it should show you where the oil slick is originaling from
My airbox is held on by one screw, not because Im lazy but because it is less weight!
