87 carb and clutch issues:

Post by killerklown »

Picked up a 1987 a few weeks back, "just needs carbs synched"... Well I've been around long enough to know that was BS, but I wanted the sled anyway. Yesterday I began workinh out the kinks. Replaced the busted (red) Primary spring, and freed up the weights.
Looks like the secondary needs some help to, the belt isnt returning completely to the top on its own. It stays down a hair over an 1/8th.
Today I started looking at the carbs, the thing starts right up, and idels/revs with throttle, but sounds "off".
Noticed the MAG carb had a 6F4 Needle? PTO side had the standard 6DH1. Whats up with this needle, anyone ever use it?
I think that cylinder was redone as well...

I have 6f4's in my SRV, it was a hard number to find, had to special order them. They are richer in part throttle midrange then stock
