lean condtion

Post by chrisrider63 »

Still having a lean condition on my v-max the clutch side spark plug is a nice colour chocolate brown and the right side is leaned out I cleaned out the carbs and it runs amasing. Could it still be running very well even if the crank seal was going bad??? It doesnt boggg, it does have a high idle but i think the way the throttle cables are positioned its pulling it. Also my carbs are not synced up perfectly could that cause this?? What if i dropped the needle on the lean side?

you could have a bad carb flange. The rubber could be cracked. If it is lean and it is running great, more than likely you do have an air leak somewhere. Also, make sure to drop the CLIP not the needle. Dropping the needle will lean it out on the bottom and midrange.

Could your power jet be plugged? That could have been overlooked. Dont drive it too much with the lean condition or else you might end up with bigger problems.
