An honest 100hp
Hi everyone I'm brand new and I'm already going to fire away with questions
I've got an 84 that's all stock internally as far as I know, definitely has stock carbs, pipes and silencer. I'd like to hop it up but not really sure where to start. I think the clutch needs attention, I put a nos 102c on it that was originally for some arctic cat. I put new a3 weights in it and the original vmax spring. From what I've read here it engages where its supposed to stock(4200) but that seems low as it bogs pretty bad for a second then takes off. Things happen in a hurry once it hits 5800 or so. Is that a jetting problem or do i need to make the engagement point higher? If so how? I'm pretty new to sleds(usually like to keep it on two wheels in the dirt:-) so bear with me. I'd also like more hp, thought 100 sounded like a good number, is that possible? All my riding consists of drag racing my buddies so I'm not worried about running race gas or having the clutch engagement being high, Id like it to be all it can be for that type of riding. Higher compression? Port work? Any info is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you-Kyle

Re: An honest 100hp
Looking under the article index under port update would be a good start.....
Re: An honest 100hp
you could try to add 1-3 washers in the primary spring, depending on how many are there now. that will raise the engagement. your not supposed to go over 3 washers(shims) or else the spring will coil bind
My airbox is held on by one screw, not because Im lazy but because it is less weight!
