Re: Update on '86 - got it running sort of
I know the feelin, just put a piston in my VM, new bushings in the clutch, seams to run ok. no snow. I plan to use this bottom end for the Big Bore by next yeat so I guess I just built a motor that will never get run

The sheeve bushing is replaceable along with the plastic buttons and can be bought from Yamaha or many aftermarket like Dennis Kirk, JR Graham ect.

I bought one off of Riechards that also, mounted behind the engine but was bolted thru the side of the frame same as the jackshaft bearing.

IT LIVES!
I got the brand new primary clutch and used secondary clutches installed and fired her up. I had to fiddle with the idle but she seems to be ready to go. The snow is gone but now I have all summer to repaint the hood and fix some other things. I already have a new seat cover and windshield so it's coming together nicely.
