Hey guys,
I know this has been discussed in a few other topics but I got my 3rd 81 back together and running. No major problems just the random missing nut and bolt and what not. However, This sled I'm keeping as a rider while the others I've redone and sold. Therefore, I've never much dealt with specific tuning other than just the bare necessities to get it running and idling well. So here's my question,
Starts and idles great!! Grea top end and bottom end...however, about mid range it bogs down a bit but with just a tougher pull of the throttle it clears right out and hits it. It's nothing major and when it does it, it almost seems like its at or near the shifting point...Sometimes it does it more than others and some times not at all...So I'm just wondering if anyone thinks its clutch related or carb related? I've had the carbs off cleaned and reassembled properly and lik eI said when it bogs all it takes is just a squeeze of the throttle and it kicks right back in. any help and/or ideas would be awesome!!! Thanks guys ahead of time!

Re: 81 SRX Bog
Sounds like a sec. problem, look over the clutch
Re: 81 SRX Bog
Like Bob said.... I have to wonder if the secondary is not back shifting. Check the replaceable bushing around the helix and the buttons.

Re: 81 SRX Bog
I am wondering what your clutch set up is? If it is the 102 then start with N-1 weights and the Purple spring . In the secondary you can keep the stock Yellow spring with 240 degree twist , or you can run the Vmax Pink spring and still set that at 240 degree twist. Which ever you prefer the secondary twist is very important on the 81 as there isn't much low to midrange torque in the motor so double check that as I have set mine up wrong by mistake and it will let you know real quick. Just like any other sled just make sure that every thing in the clutch system if free and aligned properly. Hope this helps.
