Mixing piston types on one machine??

I just got a yamaha piston for my 81 on ebay cant find another unless its through yamaha for $150 or so, could I just mix and match pistons?? or would they cause an imbalance??

Best to use a matched pair but, if they are the same bore size and weight I'd say you are ok ?
