I decided to put a new track on my Vmax. I'm almost there!!! BUT...That collar on the left side of the drive shaft is giving me issues. I was finaly able to get that alen screw out. But the steel collar doesn't want to budge. I got "Kroil" penitrating oil on the collar now. Going to let is soak in over night.
But, does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to get that collar to slide over?
drive shaft removal
I am thinking Maybe there is more than 1 set srew on the collar ? Tyler and I decided to enlarge the frame hole on the chain case side allowing the driveshaft to come out without all the hassle.

Well thanks so much for the offer!!!! But I was able to get it to move over yesterday afternoon!!!!! FINALLY!!!! I had to use a little heat from my MAP gas torch. And then used 2 pry-bars. One on top, the other on the bottom. And she slid over. Got the drive shaft off. Then cleaned up that area. I got the new track on. And the only thing that needs to be done today, is tighten the track and alighn it. Then tighten the rear axle nut.ThePipe wrote:If worse comes to worse cut that collar off.
