Headlight wattage

Post by Bob Vehring »

I read Tylers report on LED tail lights and plan to order one, I also would like to order the higher wattage head lites at the same time. I did have a problem with the handwarmers dimming my lite. So the question is, has any one run the 100 w or 130 w headlight bulbs? From what I read hand warmers can draw from 20-40 watts, thats enought to dim my 60 w bulb so are the higher wattage bulbs just going to be dimmer anyhow? Anyone tried one?

I would start with a red LED tail light and then see if you are happy with the head light. All hallogen bulbs degrade over time, maybe just replace it with new ? 130 watt bulb would probably pull the voltage down and dim the light or fry the L. coil. Wonder if they make a H.P. brighter white bulb of the same or slightly higher wattage ?

I did see the Bluhm site, Kirk also sells Bluhm, and I need to order other stuff, just want to get it all on one shipping bill.
