440 rewaighted flywheel

440 rewaighted flywheel

i had a contact the other day that told me yamaha updated a flywheel with differant waight to help solve the crank problems on the 440 engines, can anyone tell me how to identify weather or not one of my engines have this flywheel, or where i can find one, i am wanting to rebuild an engine, if anyone can help i would very much be thankful, i have a 540 engine that was running but had low compresion that i do not need if anyone needs, i would sell cheap or trade for 440 parts.Ian

I know that Yamaha did have an update on the flywheels for the 440 SRX, but I think it was for the 76-77 SRX's . I haven't heard anything on the other year SRX's..

yeah i have never heard of a flywheel update on anything 81+ (vmax or srx that is)
My airbox is held on by one screw, not because Im lazy but because it is less weight!
