Where are you located and what all do you need? I have an 85 (S# 8ON-000862) that is rough cosmeticly (was rolled then sat for many years) but oly has 2316 miles on the clock. The engine runs great and the piston/cylinders look perfect. It was full of antifreeze and the gearcase was full of nothing but oil. I have pulled it for cleaning and detailing to use for a future project. I might sell it but it wouldn't be cheap. I have rebuilt these engines and know what it costs to do one right. I do have others and many parts.

PS. The last 540 I sold was a couple of years ago on ebay to a guy on this site. It was a complete engine with fuel and electrical systems. As I remember it went for $550 or so.

I have a 84 Vmax motor recently pulled from the sled. The motor has around 150 PSI in one cylinder and around 90 in the other. So, it will probably need a new piston and possibly cylinder. The motor is not apart. Gear box was not leaking antifreeze. The crank alone on these can cost you $400 to fix.

The motor is for sale at $200 + shipping. I may be able to bring to the A-1 show in Michigan. I am located near Chicago, IL

I have a complete running 83 540 I will sell you. It has a freshened ingine. New pistons, all new seals and gaskets including gear case last winter, except the water pump shaft seal that is hard to find but there is no antifreeze in the oil. Runs very well. Sled is in fair shape. Needs a seat cover and some minor cosmetic work on the hood. New skis NOT nos style. I have a video on youtube but can't figure out how to share it. When I type in the name of the video it doesn't show up. I changed the name so it may take 6 hours to update it.
I think if go to youtube and search for wannabe1100 the video should be there.

I'd like to get about $500 for it. I see good motors going for that much. Theres also was another 83 parts sled about a block away from my house earlier this summer. Don't no if he still has it but i can check. It was pretty rough and not complete.
