I just purchased 1989 vmax that is in very good shape the side panels are flawless & is in good shape in general. I have a problem with the lights they flicker all the time any ideas what to look for! The engine has 135psi both sides is that pretty good ?? thanks

I would start by checking all the grounds,theres one at the voltage regulator under the secondary clutch,the ignition coil and in the front left corner by the cab mount also check the plugs a little electrical contact cleaner probably would'nt hurt in the connections either.if you read in the forums you will find the ohm readings for the lighting coil in the stator good luck and congrats on your find!

I agree ,check all the connections and grounds. How about a picture or two of the sled so we can take a look see!!! We here in the states don't get to see to many Canadian Vmax's...

i have the same problem no light so i got a battery and some wire and a switch and now run a really bright headlight that never gets bright or dims and have so far about 4 hrs continuous on one charge and more possible . LOL i just wanted to ride and stuff was available so we made it work and its really nice if you dont mind charging a battery !!!!!!!
