hi guys will a comet 108exp off a 81 440 work on a 540 or does the spring and weights need to be changed

youll have to change the spring a weights to get maximum performance... it will work the way it is but its probably gonna come in way high and be real jerky when it does.... from my experience it is better to come in to late than too early tho... ideally youll probably want to make it simple and find a 102c... the 108 is an overdrive clutch and therefore should rally be matched with the overdrive secondary, or the secondary should be milled to open further.... it a bunch of messing around but that doesnt mean it isnt possible... if you read back thru a ways or do a search you should find plenty of reading involving clutching
