Fellas
I would like to replace my old fuel, oil and pulse lines. Are these all the same type of hose? Is there a common O.D.?
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve
Fuel Hose and Oil Hose Differences?
Best advise would be to take them to a auto parts store and match both the O.D. and I.D.

Do yourself a favor and go to Yamaha dealer for all your line needs. You should be able to get your sled completely rehosed with a new fuel filter for around $50.
Here's why.
First off, oil, fuel and pulse are all of a different makeup.
Yamaha line is of the highest quality and I have seen MANY!! issues with the use of inferior line some of which were major engine failure caused by 50 cents worth of line (not something worth risking).
Yamaha's use metric sized line in both ID and OD which is hard to find at most parts stores.
There is also different wall thicknesses to deal with on these different types of lines with no real standard for consistancy between manufacturers of line.
Because of this difference your OEM clamps probably won't work so you may have to find clamps that will (GOOD LUCK HERE!!!).
Yamaha line is very flexible and won't kink so you can do a proper job of routing (routing can also be critical!!!)
I've been down this road many times and can tell you that the time you spend finding line that fits, findind and buying clamps that will work with this line and all the aggrivation you will go through trying to make it all work will make you wish you went to Yamaha and got the right stuff.
And if you still want to give it a try at least get the right line for the power jets on your carbs (if you change them). The ID size of these lines is CRITICLE to the function of the power jet system and line with to large of an ID in this case will cause your P-jets to go lean (and maybe not work at all). I have seen this one mistake burn holes in pistons with one WOT run. Just to save a couple of bucks on line.
Sorry to be aggressive and windy on this issue but it is a pet peeve of mine that many want to ignore. And besides the OEM line looks much better when your done.
Good Luck, Phil (opsled)
