Every Used T.S.S. sled I've bought the Knuckles and steel bushing are almost frozen or completely locked up and pivoting on the bolts ! I've bought sleds that the locked up joints won't even allow the springs to return let, alone the struts to work when hitting a bump. The T.S.S sleds have always gotten a bad rap for slop developing when the ungreased steel bushing's freeze up they grind away on the nylon washers ! I have sleds that are 15+ years old that have never had a bushing kit and are almost as tight as new. Just take apart the knuckles apart every 2-3 years and the ski mount every year and grease !

Hi, I agree completely on the maintenance issue. I don't know about info on the internet but the Yamaha manuals explain all the maintenance needs and procedures in detail and if they were all followed most of the machines they make would never die. Try to get the manual for you machine if you can. I have the G-H (83-84) Vmax manual and have had copys made for people. The place I take it to does a nice job. They laminate the covers and comb bind the edge. They even install the large 4 page fold out of the cable and wiring routing diagram along with the spark plug color chart. The last time I had some made they charged me about $25 a copy. I would like to find all the suppliments for all the years so I could put together a complete manual for the Vmax 540.
