Needle & Seat Flooding Question.****Help ****

Well Guys My VMax sauga continues, Getting close I think though.
Had it out for a few short runs ran great, After a wide Open throttle it would flood out and drop the left Cyl. Pull plpes drain, New plugs good again until I would open it up,
Took apart the left card and adusted the little brass tang that operates the needle and seat now it wont run on that side at all.
Splits gas out the white plastic tee on top of the carb, Its a tee with 2 lines on 2 empty spots.
Need some of your expert advise guys please, Im running out of ideas.

Replace your needle and seats,it is filling up with fuel and overflowing out the vents.

Also could be the floats themselves stuck or just bad.

Thanks for you help, I will give it a shot.
Is the little tang on the bottom of the needle and seat a crutial measurement as far as its angle that it hangs at ?

oh yeah! the little tang adjusts the float height... as far as the actual measurement i cant remember it off hand.. after im done posting this ill look in our own articles section...

the float height is adjusted by turning the carb upside doen and measureing and bending as needed... from what i remember though the general idea is to get the float adusted level (flat)

Float Level 18.1mm and yes if the floats are too low in the float bowls this could cause a lean condition (too high from body of carb when held upside down) and vise/verse if too high

turns out chuck was on it at the exact same time...

From the 1986 Service and Tuning Data Acticle....

Float Level 18.1mm ... i think you get +-1mm on this

It apperas both needles arent sealing as they should.I have a few new ones coming,
As far as setting the float is there a procedure to follow, I seem to be short about 3 hands in trying to set them
Should it be 18 mm from where they hang at the full down position to where there meet at the needle end ?

turn the carb upside down.... measure the distance from the carb casting (without the gasket) to the part of the float closest to the venturi.... (hope this makes sense, im trying not to refer to "top" and "bottom").... with the carb upside down the float should rest awfully close to level

Thanks Again Guys, Just to confirm.
1) Set the carg upside down, Bowl up.
2) From the base where the gasket would sit to where the tang natruraly hangs of its full travel ?

Is it to the tab that meets the needle or the wide part that meets the float that we are measuring.

Don't trust any sparkplugs you've already had in it. They may look brand new and still foul out. Just put new ones in it.
