Hi Guys, well into my restoration of my 81 SRX now.
the dash/ gas tank cover was badly faded, so..ive repainted it witha plastic paint, looks good. however i think that there were orignially some silver accents on it in places, but couldnt tell for sure. would you confirm ..
1) top of cover to the right of the gas flap, below the ignition key/choke is a Square area with raised lines going across, i beleive these were silver on the raised section ?
2) top of the cover , left side, directly below the temp guage is a blank hole, the cover of that blank has a double lined cross "+ " inside the circle, i thnk that the raised double lines of that cross are also silver ?
anyone confirm or deny that ive got this right ?
thanks for the help
Silver on the Tank Cover of an 81 SRX ??
hmmmm good question.... i dont know the correct answer but my thoughts are that there shouldnt be any silver pain... i think alot of people painted those pieces on thier own... same way with the YAMAHA emblem... maybe some one will have a better answer tho.... in the mean time im going to look through some brocures and see what i can find
My airbox is held on by one screw, not because Im lazy but because it is less weight!
