Bigger Gas Tank or Small Add on for the Vmax

Post by 91 Vmax sled »

Has anyone tried to add a bigger gas tank to your vmax without changing to much? I have seen some guys add an extra small tank (gas pig) behind the rad which will give them an extra 1 to 1 1/2 gallons in pictures. But does this affect the rad in any way?

Can someone tell us if this works well and how hard is it to hook up and what is the cost. What are the pros and cons of doing this. If anyone has pictures of this could you add them to this link for us to see.

theres gotta be a better way! I just dont have the solution, but i personally dont like blocking off the rad.Maybe an aftermarket tank or off of something else. Good luck

My tank behind the radiator does not stop the air from going thru. Besides the Vmax has been proven to have plenty of cooling in fact, I've talked to guys out west who took off the big rear cooler and had no cooling issues ? I have a 86 project sled which I hope someday will have a different seat and tank combo. possibly, off the 97 up Yamaha's ? I would love to go to a snowmobile scrap yard and try different combinations.
Here are some pictures of a tank I added to my Exciter. I found a old lawn mower(?) tank and added a seat riser and could fill from the luggage compartment. Wish I could find 100 of these tanks ! I simply hooked the line into the main tanks vent line like the Tour Buddy does !
