Arctic cat primary on a vmax possible?
Arctic cat primary on a vmax possible?
My 102 is junk on an 87 restore that I'm working on. I see articles on using 108's and Polaris' as replacements but nothing on arctic cat. Have a cat primary and a newer reverse cam Yamaha secondary on the shelf. Would like to know others opinions.

Re: Arctic cat primary on a vmax possible?
I haven't tried a Cat pri. I do have a P85 Pol on my 83. Most things simply count on geting the center to center right and the alignment. I made a shim to go over my taper, sometimes the engine and/or sec. can be moved around to get things right.
The next thing to watch is if you move to a wide belt overdrive clutch the stock sec must be machined slightly to open enough. Easy if you have a lathe. If you want to change to either a Cat or Pol style sec. Micro Belmont makes a shaft that does this, I thing its in the $150 range.
