Try changing the oil in the gear case it has 85-90 weight gear oil in it and it maybe old and thick . Also make sure the roller for the rope is OK,I have seen some of them stick and make it hard to pull. They will be a little hard to pull when cold but they are a very good starting sled 1 or 2 pull...

hum sounds like you guys like amsoil i have a gal of the yamalube that came with the sled it dont have the mix ratio on it but i might have to try the amsoil thanks so much guys im sure ill have more to ask this is a great site thanks. kevin

im new to this site and after posting i found that the guys that are premixing there gas were using 40 to 1 mix is this right? thanks again. kevin

hi i just got a 85 vmx 540 which was bored and rebuilt and beefed up some they also took the oil pump system off the guy told me 1 quart of oil to 6 gal of gas is that right? im useing yama lube 2s is the ratio 25 to 1 for this sled? thanks. kevin
