'84 vmax race project

Post by crwdog »

OK...took the leap and found a '84 vmax. As I have been stuck racing my vintage GP292; ET300; GPX338; and my lovely SR292.... I now will be running in the 0-600 >'92 IFS class with a '84 540. As this is a completly new sled for me, its gonna be a steep learing curve. Can any of you help me with information.... Porting; Suspension; rear skid setup; TSS setup? Cant widen, and will be running stock exhaust

Thanks in advance!!!

8) Hi, you will be very happy with your 84 Vmax. people just don't know what these old maxes are able to do! I race mine at the Radar runs and Drags,I wish we had oval racing but we don't! I have many hours in my Vmax and I'm proud to go to a race with a 23 year old sled and YAMAHA the field!! 8)

I see Bender Racing TSS lowering tubes every so often on Ebay. Try (716) 941-5840

I contacted Bender Racing and they have not made tubes in over 10 years and will not produce a set for me. They were rude and I will not spend any money wth them

Tim Bender has not owned the Bender Racing business now for probably five years. It was recently sold again to another outfit that is actually working out of Tim Benders shop. FYI.

got my '84 home!

Post by crwdog »

alright, after some hunting, I ended up with this '83 parts sled, and this '84 running sled. Picked them up lastnight, and have not even washed them yet. Tradded my running '74? SW433 for these! now if time allows, the '84 will be on the ice this winter!!!
