Nice work ! You may want to consider a softer set of T.S.S. springs for the 540. Even the softest springs (Yellow) for the heavier Vmax 5/600's are stiffer than any of the original springs. See the Articles section on T.S.S. spring rates.

Hi, Chuck, I purchased a new vmax 600 in 94 and found that for our type of ditchbanging and open fields the springs were to soft and I went to a STIFFER set so I think the yellow will be OK, at least for now,

I was having some bad fuel pump issues so I removed both of them and used one from a vmax 600,a very reliable pump, and it just cleaned things up a bit,one fuel line one impulse line one one oil line,it would be much harder to get at but like I said a very reliable pump, every thing feeds up from the bottom under the flatslide carbs and you dont see anything, I guess it is just a result of to much time on my hands,LOL.
