I saw the secondary clutch presses in the tool catalogs.

I built one tonight out of junk around the garage that seems to work OK.

The way it works is to put your knee on the 2x6 to get the weight off the cir clip in order to remove it. then take the washers off. hold the ramp and let up on the board slowly until the pulley spins off the springs energy.



To put it back together,
Engage the spring into the correct holes in the anchor.
Put the ramp on the splines about 1/4 inch.
Hold the ramp down with the board but not push down on it.
Wind the movable pulley counter clockwise until the ramp is clear of the ramp slides.
Push down on the board to expose the cir clip groove.
Install the washers and snap ring.

I'd rather twist my wrists, push with my knees (down on the floor), compress the helix all the while holding the snap ring pliers with the washer and circlip............... B.T.W. Do you hold the Patten and if so, how much for one ? !

does your invention feature a "runaway helix catcher" so if your lose grip on it it doesnt blast your uncle in the chest? hahahaha that never happened!

The runaway helix catcher is the upper board.
If you have a balance problem, you can sit on the board.

As you stand up, the helix spins under the board expending all the spring energy before you can get your foot/knee/cheeks off the board.

I've been really impressed with how safe it is to use.
