im having two problems i cant figure out one is my headlight works but when i switch it to high beam it shuts off and the other problem im having is at high speeds it starts to bog out maybe somehow air is getting into the gas lines it doesnt do it all the time just some of the time it started doing it today right after i filled up the gas tank and i know my gas cap is broke would that cause there to be air in the lines?

Headlight sure sounds like the high beam switch contacts are open, there is a broken wire or simply the high beam element of the bulb is open. A digital multimeter is a handy tool when working on the old girls ! Does it only bog down when in deeper snow, going uphill or will it also, bog on hardpack ?

"my gas cap is broke would that cause there to be air in the lines?" I would look at the gas pick up tube in the tank cracked , broken fuel filter or a fuel pump that is sucking air may cause this ? If both gas lines have alot of air then it's sucking air before the fuel pumps. This could cause a bog for lack of gas. Bad clutches will not allow the engine to keep the RPM's in the power band.
