How does it hook up, at what point do you hit top speed, is it still climbing at the end or is it maxed out?
Where is your jetting at, at this point, its all the little things that you have to know in order to move ahead. For the little bit needed to make 100. a jet change, clutch change, more, or less picks or even just getting you head or body out of the wind could do it. Check your plugs BEFORE you drive back to the start

Well I lost 100 lb my brother in law is going to drive now . The sled has 1/2 speed track lots of wheels only 98 ice pics. The motor is still running a little rich . I have to wait and see how the weather and track is . Next weekend . I know the air is a lot thinner up in north bay on. Will change needle and jets at the track. I wish I had more lower grears for the 81 .stuck with 31 tooth .maybe try less secondery spring . Oh well lots of thing to test butt not enough time..

i been telling slow pro for year this sled has to run at 9250. not 8850 or 9550. thats why you have not hit your target speed yet. and why would you want to gear down to yet achieve more speed ? yikes. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Tony I meant bottom gear. Not to gear down and yes the rpms are close but that is on a stock gear drive tach how close are they?.. and do u think going with a lighter driver that's going two make my secondary shift out slower. Thanks for your help

ken a lighter driver will make ya faster, but will also change your peak rpm, sled will sense lite driver. you will go faster. those tachs were off, but running that farr should be close. so you want to drop bottom gear to achieve more speed, thats more like it. 3:16 (yammie tony)

play with sec clutch spring twist, your gearing must be close if your running 99+mph .

you would be suprised at how little as 10 degree twist can add a couple mph easily. you want the least amount of tension as possible just enough to hang onto the belt and youll get the best mph. When you set up the rear clutch loose with spring tension, youll need to walk the sled out easy off the start so you dont pull the belt down in the sec too fast and overshift it. roll it out... then increase the throttle for radar running.
