Need help with nozzle identification?

Post by winterthunder »

Can some help me identify what this nozzle is for? Its #6 on the exploded view of the pump drive gear housing. I am in the middle of replacing all fuel/oil lines on my 86 max restoration and this did not have anything attached to it. My shop manual doesn’t identify it at all other then calling it a nozzle. :?:

I think you are talking about the small elbow on top by the serial #. If so that is just a vent for the gear case. Nothing was attatched to it from the factory. Make sure it is open to prevent preassure buildup in the case. You could run a vent line off of it like they do on a Mic carb but it really isn't needed.
