Thanks for the info! I am also wondering who reproduces the 83-85 seat cover with the "yamaha" logo on it? I was very lucky to find a 800 mile 1985 vmax!! It has been resting since 1988. What do I need to look for in the engine as much as replacing besides a total fuel system cleaning (crank seals,piston rings)?? If someone could give me a few ideas that would be great.

i can screenprint that yamaha logo on there for you if you send me the seat cover... honestly tho im im going to guarentee how well it will hold up on that material... let me try it on my own first hahaha
My airbox is held on by one screw, not because Im lazy but because it is less weight!

A leakdown and compression check will tell you the overall condition but, will not tell if you have rusty crank bearings due to improper storage.
