ok so i'm havin trouble with my lights,finally got my new motor in today and got it fired up and my lights are all very dim,i did some checking and found that if unplug the head light everything else is nice and bright again,plug the headlight bak in a back to super dim,seams like something maybe grounding out but don't know where to start looking.....any help?

Check that all wiring connections are clean, dry and tight from the stator all the way to the head light and dimmer switch. The ground should be under the left foot well below the seconday clutch attached to the voltage regulator mounting bolt. 540's head lights are not bright at idle speed see the Article on LED bulbs.
