i cant figure the clutching out on my vmax Angry
it has a 108 comet clutch instead of a 102, it was all set up to 102 factory specs with A3 weights and a silver spring, with that set up it engaged at 1100rpm's
i just put in a new yellow comet spring in it thats stiffer than the factory silver figuring that the silver one was just worn out and it still takes of at 1100rpm's confquestion
the setup im running now should engage at about 4600rpm's confquestion
what should i do???

Assuming the C to C and alignment is correct and you have the right belt..
That makes me think about several things. Back when the 108's came out I thought, but thats a long time ago, they used a wider belt. I think alto not sure that most could be adjusted by shims for different width belts. Maybe too many shims which would put the sheaves up tight to the belt? Also were the bushings good or have rock in them?

"The blue spring and engage at 4400 rpm" Sounds like a good bet, I believe this may be a Polaris spring.

Just something else to think about, springs are prone to fatique. they suffer from many duty cycles. If that spring is many years old, has seen alot of heat, quite possible it no longer meets it spec.
Most catalogs have a chart show the spring with numbers in lbs at usually two wt at a given height. If you have a scale that reads within that wt range you can use a drill press to compress the spring while sitting on the scale. Non digital scales ( bathroom) may not be exact, but you can see if your close.

i found that when i changed my wieghts to A3'S on my 108 that the tip of the wieght caught on the internal spacer causing the clutch to already be engaged.check to see that the arms of the wieghts are close to the rollers.if not it could be hung up like mine was.i made the mistake of assembling clutch with the movable sheave in the w.o.t. position,ok if u flip the clutch upside down and let the wieghts swing all the way out and jam somthing in between the sheaves (i used a 1/2 full water bottle 500ml)to keep it up good luck
