1981 or 82 srx/ vmax

i have aquired 2 srxs that r identical to a vmax, i was told a story that the factory had junked all the motors i was wondering iff anyone noes anything about this and if so what r the sleds worth the one sled is missing a windshield and shows 200 miles the other has 600 miles and a blowed up big bore motor thes sleds are in beautiful shape

Do you have some pictures? Also don't believe everything you hear about the 81 & 82 SRX's,I have a 81 with the 440 motor in it and it runs great ,you just have to pay attention to the carbs as far as the weather & temperature is concerned,do normal maintenance and run GOOD gas and you will be OK. You will see a lot of 81 SRX's out there with the original motor in them so don't believe every thing that they say about the motors and what the dealers did ,Yamaha had a lot of recalls on them even into 82 , the 82"s were recalled before they were sold , read the article in the Article Index marked ( What happened to the 82 SRX's ) and it will explain a lot.
