Joe, personal opinion here, but, I don't trust plug color on today's pump gas for anything other then maybe long range overall condition, to many additives in pump gas. I have many times seen EGT numbers reading low 800-1000, which usually would say Rich, but actually was too lean. I've seen this mo...

I'm not sure which SD pistons he used, Haven't had a chance to find him yet, but I will. I know ARIES, Wisco and J&E have made custom pistons for karting, not always cheap but its not really hard for them to make and they will do it. I just need time to tear a few things apart here and measure. ...

So, What do I have here?

Bought a '83 several months ago. Seller said he had new cyls and pistons installed but couldn't get it to run.. Looking threw the plug hole and ex port, this appeared to be true. Both sides pulled 150 psi. Cleaned carbs and got it to run, with in 3 min. idling I heard it start to loose power. Look u...

It might make it easier to understand if you relate your sled to a car. The clutches are the transmission 3,4,5,6, speed. The gears are like the rear end, a completely different thing. Our clutches don't have gears, but are constantly variable going from a low to a high and some overdrive. Gears wil...

They do make a rectifier, many old sleds had them to charge batterys or I think its a standard elec shop item. Mine actually came off my 71 Evinrude. Its about 1 in sq, and 1/2 thick, 4 wires hook to it, 2, 12v ac and a + and - 12 v dc come out. I use it on my '81 SRV to power a neon light which doe...
