Lets talk windschields

I'm guessing mine is aftermarket, not cracked or broken, but does have some kinda weird, warping thing going on where it bends around to the side. Not real bad, but ya see it. Is that common on aftermarket, or, was mine parked to close to a fire?

I took the easy way and painted it on the sled. Got bored last night and wrapped it in barbed wire  I'll take pix after I clear it, which I thought was going to be today. The kid is so backed up with 120 sled engines that the mill has been running since noon. I hate painting in a machine shop

Yes I did them, that was my job for 30 years, more paint work on our site linked below. Most of my sleds have "normal" custom paint, I thought this one needed something more evil, the V Max became VooDoo Max which lead to the tribal/tatoo stuff, what can I say, no one ever called me ...

Pictures look sort of fuzzy, don't work well with cameras, too many buttons

The orange peal and roughness is from a protective clear untill I finish shading in the airbrush work, then it will get cleared. Can't make up my mind if it should end up gloss or Matte finish.

Well, I have most of the graphics airbrushed now, getting close to clearing the paint. Not sure if I want to go with the normal gloss clear or try the matte look thats around on things now. Really what I'm thinking, but never tried, is using a gloss over some of the main art, then blending the matte...

According to my SRV Manuel, which looks to me to be the same 8-15 mm (0.32 - 0.59) freeplay Torque locking nut to3.5 m-kg (25 ft lbs) Now personalby, because I change gears in some of my sleds at times which means the chains will have either much more, or much less slack, or at times a different len...

Do you mean adjusting the chain case for chain tension or do you mean adjusting the entire chain case to align the shafts as in blueprinting the chassis?

Polishing the rod was done to help prevent stress risers in the material. How important this is, is relavent to how close to the limit of the strength of your rod your at. Most sleds have pretty strong rods. Its more of an issue when dealing with very heavy pistons. It is also common in 4 cy race en...

Thanks Jeff, I just spent days straitening a set of really bent up panels to paint. So far I have a bar off a Phazer, and a friend is giving me a complete set up off a VM 4 Somehow, something is going on here. I haven't rode this thing yet, but if its anything like my SRV, it needs a bar, or outrigg...

Did anyone ever see these "different side panels" to be used with the sway bar? Was there a factory sway bar and did it need these different side panels?

The original '83 hood and panels we in good shape including the decals, so I found some others and started body work today Hood wasn't bad, one small crack. Both side panels were hammered, alittle welding, l...
