I used heat to expand the gear and it came right off the crank. hope this helps

engages closer to 5K and revs out around 9K. I Have not weighed the cam arms to determine exactly what they are and how closer they are to specs. My manual show that top RPM is 9250???? thanks again

thanks tyler, i have the comet 102C on the sled and the secondary is stock. I intially set the clutches up with the belt I had (STOCK 1080) giving myself 1 and 1/4 inch deflection to detrermine center to center. I prolly need to make a tool to get this more accurate, and the offset on the money. sle...

Thanks for all your help in getting this sled up and running again. Wow! what a ripper for an old sled. After about 3 yrs of restoration and problem solving FINALLY it is running well and strong. The CDI is the updated CDI 8R9 which if I understand it correctly was the CDI intially for the 82 srx 500 which ran fine couple yrs ago? Well guys here I am a year later and no fire. I have replaced the seals in the bottom half, looked like the one side was defineltly leaking.
