I have an 1987 vmax 540 liquid cooled sled. It is in realy good condition, takes only a 3 inch pull to start. Rode it for less than a winter and the stator gave out. I am sure it is the problem, I checked it with a mulitmeter. Thats all it needs to get back out on the trail. The cowl is in great sha...
