That part number is for a 84 or newer, which I believe has a different design gearcase. Can anyone confirm this?

Part I need the MOST, the oil seal: p/n 93103-25133-00 --this is the one that is no longer available.

I also need a new bearing, p/n 93316-00101-00 .....these I think are still available, but I have not ordered one yet since the seal appears to be hopeless.

No, unfortunately the one I need is unavailable from Yamaha, and I have not been able to locate a suitable replacement through local bearing/seal dealers. Thanks for trying though!

Gear case complete with seals/pump shaft needed

Looking for a complete pump gear case for my 83 vmax--mine has a bad seal on the impeller(leaks coolant into the case), can't find a replacement. Would prefer one from an 84 or newer so I don't have to deal with the same problem again. Would like complete with all seals, bearings, pump shaft, etc. H...

Parting out 83 vmax, or sell whole

Sled was originally built for drag racing by the original owner, I was converting it for trail use. Would take quite a bit of work to restore, but if you just want a fast fun sled, this is it. Registered for the trail in PA. I put a total of 18 miles on it before it started leaking coolant from the ...

Unfortunately, the 44's are what I got the sled with, so I need to live with them. The good news is that it runs great! The thing is, this sled was originally owned by a guy who did nothing but drag racing, and I am just trying to figure out what has been "modded" (I bought it from the sec...

Yes, that is the part I need....unfortunately, I already called to order one, and was informed that there are none available in the US and it would have to be shipped via container from Japan, taking who knows how long (according to the parts guy!) Since I don't want to wait for a part to show up at...

Range for 83 Vmax w/ original gas tank?

Just wondering what kind of mileage range I will get with my newly purchased 83 vmax 540.....that gas tank is pretty small, plus my sled has 44mm carbs (some porting too, otherwise stock...I think!) Needless to say I am a bit concerned, and already trying to figure out how/where I can mount a remote...

I think I am going to just keep it stock--why mess with it if it is still together after 24 years, right? I will be premixing for a while anyway, until I can track down a new oil pump cable (mine's missing). Thanks for the advice!

Donnie, on mine it just looks like normal polyurethane fuel hose (don't know if that is original, but it works!). Not sure of size, maybe 1/4 or 5/16? Cut a piece off and take it with you. If Autozone doesn't have it, I'm sure any powersports dealer would have it. Wish you luck--I'm in the process o...

Tyler, check out http://www.snopartseast.com. I found some parts for my Merc there, I would think Yamaha parts would be easy for them!

The guy I have talked with is Roland Delorme-- roland@snopartseast.com

Hope you have good luck,

Relocating oil lines--83vmax540--simple, or not?

I'm interested in relocating the oil injection lines on my 83 vmax--changing from injecting before the pumps to using the fittings on the intake flanges. From some of the other posts I have read on the forum, it appears to be easy since the fittings are already there on my 83. Is it as simple as jus...
