No, I am not trying to add reverse. I am just thinking about updating the driveline in the sled because I have a pile of SRX parts laying around. I will also be running an SRX secondary and brake setup as well. I am still undecided with what to do with the motor, but I have a few ideas :) It'll be q...

Chaincase Center to Center

What is the chaincase center to center on the Vmax 540's? I am toying with the idea of updating the driveline with spare SRX700 parts I have laying around.

clutch and taper question

I am wondering if the newer style (srx, sx, viper) primary clutches can be run on the Vmax's. Is the taper the same? I just picked up a '91 Vmax, and is going to undergo a complete ground up restoration, with a few slight modifications such as flat slide carbs, cluches, jackshaft, driveshaft, and ch...

I just need to know the center to center distance. I will figure out everything else. I would appreciate it if somebody could measure this for me. Thanks in advance.

Carburetor center to center

I am wondering what the carb center to center is on a Vmax. I am going to pick up a set of flatslides to run on my '91, but need to know center to center distance. Thanks.

Guage sizes

What size are the guages on the Vmax? Tach and speedo? What is the overall width and height of the inset guage pod that contains the tach and speedo?

I will not just be putting an SRX motor in. It will be a well ported 780 big bored SRX with 38mm carbs from a MachZ that are bored to 40.5's, and I will run Jaws lakerace pipes. The motor should be in the 180 hp range, on low compression and pump fuel. It should be a fun project.

I suppose an SRX700 motor would not fit in that chassis either. I'm sure pipes would certainly be an issue. I do not ha...
