Re: Trying to figure what kind of carbs are my 86 vmax 540

Ya, 320s in 83 and that's with a Power Jet. Pick up some Thunder Products power Jets and install them in your good carbs, If you ain't keen on finding originals. I Eventually gave up and that's what I did.

Sweet set of SRX side panels wanted.

Looking for a nice set of Side panels.Preferably with nice SRX decals. But a super straight set of vmax or blank ones would be fine.

Thanks.

So it may not be that there is anything wrong just that a carb is open more. Or it could still be trouble.

Lazer thermometer on the pipe says 270 on the PTO and 170 on the mag. IS this just a fool around with jetting and m...

Lots of snap.EGTs seem to have evened out.Used a lazer thermometer on the pipes,Not a perfect way but better than...

One thing. It's hard to start up.You have to flutter the gas to get it running but once it's idling you're fine.If you shut down it's the sam all over again. The Mag side is running colder(rich) I don't have a way to Measure EGTs. ...

Plus whatever running time the engine had idling or checking. It doesn't take long to ruin parts if there is not enough oil getting to them.

Sure it can! They can melt down on the very first ride if whatever ruined it the first time wasn't taken care of!
