i still have problems with this sled at times you can start it and it runs good other times it wont pull its own weight. if anybody has any ideas i would be grateful.

got an 84 srv from guy who could not get it running. i got it running but it backfires out the exhaust at idle or slightly off idle. went through the carb, put a diff cdi on, replaced the charge coil with a used one, put a known good muffler on, new fuel pump and filter.tried spraying carb clean aro...

Ive found if you fill the hole with trans fluid and wrap the threads with alot of teflon tape it works really good on some applications and you dont have to touch the crank. check u-tube for video. if fastenal dont have a bolt check mac, matco or snap on for some puller shaft specs. thats what i used.

all oil pump lines have been disconnect. just got new belt in yesterday gona give that a go.

had the primary gone through by my local race shop. i no it needs a new belt. did not do the sharpy thing yet. fuel is mixed 25:1 was told to break it in then go leaner. could that be a problem.

where are all them jets you stated. if that jet in the bottom of carb is the main jet do i need any in the bowls ? and i dont see where there is anything blocked off.

83 Vader MAX

this is my '83 Vmax I bought in January this year from craiglist. Motor was seized up, lucky for me it came with a spare motor. still in the process of getting it to run right.

both carbs had #310 jets in main carb body, and pilot jets size unknown. 2 empty holes in both bowls. pics not the best.

fuel issues

im new to the forum so need to be patient with me. i had bought an 83 540 vmax this year and in the process of restoring it. all fuel lines were rotted off and the shut off valves leaked. bypassed valves, and have oil pump disconnected. got it to run. will idle good. mid to full throttle just boggs ...
