Had the vmax out this weekend, went about 48 miles and it ran like a top. Every time I ride this thing it feels like it was the first time, I have had a lot of sleds over the years but nothing makes me feel like this one does. I would just like to Thank Yamaha for building such a Great sled. I still get excited every time I pull the trigger on the Might Max, It's hard to believe an 83 can pull as hard as this does. Well I just wanted to say Thanks Yamaha you made a lot of people happy even after all these years!!

JEFF, GREAT POST. I HAD MINE 100 % STRIPED AND TODAY I RIPED IT AROUND MY HOUSE WITH NO ANTI FREEZE LEAKING IN GEAR CASE. I HAD GERRY MURPHY ,s 1997 VMAX 4 800 HERE TO SO I WAS BUSY. ANYWAYS I ALSO MADE AFEW JETTING CHANGES PER UPDATED PORTING SPEC. AS FARR AS THANKING YAMAHA, I DOUBT THERE IS ANYBODY THERE THAT EVEN KNOWS WHAT A 83 VMAX IS. Talked to a dealer this weekend, he thought a 2002 Viper was a 2 cyclinder.

Thanks for sharing ! I put 204 miles in 2 rides on my 86 this weekend and she never missed a beat and yes, these sleds when well tuned are a blast like no other sled ! Nothing but, smiles !

Ya I know, all the engineers that are responsible for these sleds have long been retired. I will bet they are like these sleds, they just keep on ticking, Maybe if we are lucky they are reading all these posts in all these websites and sitting back and smiling on what a great job they did. I also had my 83 out two weeks ago we got afoot of of snow it ran flawless . Didn't get to ride it at all last year.can't wait to take the 81 out again.
