I need to replace the track on my 83 V-max. I saw one post here that said you can use a .75-.875. I plan to run studs. What size can I use? ALos does anyboyd have adecent used one for sale?
Thanks

Studs no more than 3/16" above the highest rubber lug is a good rule of thumb for general trail riding. Personally, for stud clearance I would stick to the 3/4" track which already is a big improvement over the anemic .525" stock track.

Last year we put a .9" track on our 81 SRX. It fit fine with some clearance to spare. Not sure if the 83 Vmax has the same clearances, but it fit on the 81 perfectly.

It totally changed the characteristics of the sled. Its usable in powder now, and hooks up better off the line. It used to just spin the track, now it lifts the skis.

Ryan.

3/4 lug track and 1" studs will work fine.
