Hi SRX500F82 what yamaha has those pipes? I would like to gain 5-6 mph! The compression should be about 150psi or less? In 19 years, I have had it the motor has never been torn down. It has 3100 miles and how much would you gain with new rings? If you can find or help with the SRX 500 Porting specs
Their is a yamaha guy, I race with ,I will check with him on the specs

Undertaker, You do very well to represent the Vmax 540 ! I can not help to feel a new set of rings and very possiblly pistons would give the old Vmax a boost. Where is the compression ?

Hey Vmax540 thanks for the kind words. compression check is the first thing on my list. What can I say, I fell in LOVE with the old VMAX the first time, I saw it  I've won alot of races with the old boy. Yamaha should be proud, that a 26 year old sled is still competitive with the new technology of today's sleds.

Remember old YAMAHA'S never DIE they just go FASTER!!
