I bought a KOSO with the fast acting probes from Western Power Sports.
Part number 27-5710.
It is on page 226 of their catalog.

It runs on the rotten power that a non-electric start snowmobile provides. The display flickers at idle but does not lose it's peak memory.

The backlights turn from blue to red at a user settable temperature.

They do make a rectifier, many old sleds had them to charge batterys or I think its a standard elec shop item. Mine actually came off my 71 Evinrude. Its about 1 in sq, and 1/2 thick, 4 wires hook to it, 2, 12v ac and a + and - 12 v dc come out. I use it on my '81 SRV to power a neon light which does not work on ac

These meters have the rectifier built in so you don't need an external one.
