83 vmax drive belt ??

What is the propper belt for the 83 Vmax 540?
ALso where should the belt height be on the secondary? above the sheeve? flush??

All the 1080 Dayco belts iv tried are just under flush. And there is lots of play in the belt, its loose.. Iv taken out all the secondary shims. It helped, but i think the 1080 belts arent the propper belt for this sled. Im not used to older sleds. All the sleds iv worked on have belt height above the secondary eighth inch and are very tight. ( on the verge of creeping at idol)

Any tips appreciated!! we just got this sled going. Brand new 102C with purple spring, A-3 weights. Sled engages at 4800rpm. So far only pulls 7800rpm. I think the belt set up is killing it..

Keep in mind there are different Comet purple springs.....been there....
