1981 SRX Shock(s)?

Post by xxxbuck19xxx »

Should there be 2 shocks in the rear skid?

I bought a used one that seems fine except one missing bogey wheel but I see attachments for a shock but have no clue as to what the eye to eye length is. There is a skid for sale on EBAY and I noticed it has no shock either. And OF COURSE you can't get these anymore other than used so I"m just wondering what is the standard.

Is this this original 81 suspension or the Pro-Action ? Very few I see have the original suspension and if it does then you'll have to talk with someone like Jon B. for measurements.

TY for the useful links. The conclusion I am drawing is: All sleds of the years you mention with vmax and exciter in the years you provided all have a rear shock and no center shock. I believe this is original Yamaha suspension I have.
Will that 8203 fit in the centre position that looks like it needs a shock on my 81 suspension? Or would it be better to put some other kind in that fits? Which kind fits that isn't the original. The original one looks like it sucks anyhow

Are you looking to ride or just show the sled ? If you thinking of putting in a Pro-Action I would go with a good set of aftermarket shocks !
