Westmoreland County Snow

Post by Donnie »

Hey all. My brother and I just got back from a ride on the top of Laurel Ridge. This is near Johsntown, New Florence, Jennerstown. The conditions were loose wet powder, about 8 - 12 inches worth. Some light snow falling. The trails on the New Florence side didn't look as if they ewre ridden at all. The Jennerstown side was busy as was Walat's bar on the top of Route 30. People there had come over from the Seven Springs area and ROute 31 near Donegal. They said the trail was well worn and about 100 trucks over in the lot on Route 31. The Laurel Highlands Snowmobile Club had a Poker Run today also. Some others followed us back over the ridge top between the AT&T towers and said that the New Florence side was in much better shape that the Seven Springs side. Not sure what the weather holds for late this week, but it would be nice to get out again.
